Instructional Design

Overview

For this project, my class worked with iFixit.com, a collaborative website with an online community focused on providing easy ways to repair our electronics. We were to choose something that people should know how to fix to research, design, create, and share that procedure with others.

To demonstrate my understanding of what it takes to create effective learning experiences, I developed an eight-step guide to replacing a taillight in a Ford Focus.

Goals

The goal of the guide was to help Ford Focus owners replace their taillights quickly and easily.

Approach

I provided research and guided instructions to help others repair broken taillights and hand sanders. The proposal I submitted to iFixit to contribute to the community is linked below.

Outcome

The finished guide is published on the iFixit website along with other work I’ve completed for the website.

The screenshot to the right shows Step 1 of the guide.
